GR Lab présent à la ROSCon FR

GR Lab and NGX Robotics represented by Philippe Capdepuy at ROScon FR 2026

Philippe Capdepuy, a Doctor of Engineering at NGX Robotics and GR Lab by NGX Robotics, took part in ROSCon FR, an event dedicated to robotics engineering.

On this occasion, several recognised figures from the sector gathered for a round-table discussion moderated by the Comité Robotique France, on the theme: « ROS: lessons learnt and future prospects ».

Speakers included, in particular:

  • Marian Scuturici, CNRS – French Robotics Committee
  • Philippe Bidaud, ONERA – French Robotics Committee
  • Agnès Delaborde, National Metrology and Testing Laboratory (LNE)
  • Thomas Solatges, Orthopus
  • Philippe Capdepuy, NGX Robotics
  • Vincent Rousseau, INRAE

Discussions focused on very practical topics for those involved in designing, integrating or deploying robotic systems, such as the uses and prospects of ROS for industrial robotic applications.

In particular, in certain cases such as:

  • The benefits of ROS for structuring modular robotic architectures
  • The migration from ROS 1 to ROS 2 and associated best practices
  • The challenges of safety, robustness and certification for industrial applications
  • The role of open source in the transition from research to real-world applications

Philippe Capdepuy was able to share his expertise on the uses and benefits of ROS, addressing in particular the challenges of software architecture reliability, security and integration in constrained environments, notably certification for the use of ROS in industrial settings.

At GR Lab, these topics are part of day-to-day work: designing, prototyping and ensuring the reliability of robotic solutions capable of meeting real-world constraints relating to use, integration and operation.
